Workshop Description:

This training is designed for individuals, agencies, and organizations seeking support to create more accessible and friendly environments for transgender and gender non-conforming people. The training provides the building blocks for trans competent care in helping professions. Participants in with workshop will gain a broad understanding of:

-Transgender and gender non-conforming (TGNC) identities
-How to use language respectfully while promoting common protective factors
-How individuals, organizations and clinics can make minor adjustments to increase their accessibility for transgender and gender non-conforming individuals
-How to increase accessibility intersectionally, across race, class, gender, and sexual orientation lines
-How a healing justice approach can be used to increase assess to competent care
